Julia Roberts has been doing her mandatory 14-day quarantine in one of Sydney's most exclusive properties, which is worth an estimated $56.9million.

The Hollywood actress arrived in Australia just over a week ago to begin shooting the romantic comedy Ticket to Paradise in Queensland with George Clooney.

Julia, 54, is quarantining at the luxury harbourside mansion in lower Vaucluse, but it turns out the property is shrouded in mystery.

According to property records obtained by realestate.com.au, the four-bedroom home has only traded hands once in 40 years.

It was originally bought in 1981 for $2.185million by an undisclosed buyer and was later purchased by the late Australian David Coe in 1997 for $14.637million.

Coe was the chairman and managing director of Allco Finance Group.
