The official trailer for the Michael B. Jordan-starring drama feature A Journal For Jordan was released on Sony Pictures Entertainment's official YouTube channel on Wednesday.

In the video, the 34-year-old performer was seen playing deceased Sergeant Charles Monroe King while exploring the difficulties of maintaining a relationship while actively serving in the military.

The Denzel Washington-directed feature is based on Dana Canedy's book A Journal for Jordan: A Story of Love and Honor, which was released in 2008.

The trailer begins with King opening a gift from the writer, played by Chante Adams, giving her husband a journal so he could tell his unborn son 'who you are, what you believe in.'

He is then seen writing an entry and tells his child through a voiceover that 'the moment I met your mother, I knew she was the one.'

The married couple was also shown at their first meeting, and after the writer notices that King is wearing tennis shoes, she tells her friends that 'he is not exactly my type.'

The two were then seen going on one of their later dates, and the sergeant noted in his journal that 'after some convincing, she fell for me, too.'

King and Dana were later shown spending time in their bedroom, and the latter expressed that she would love to see more of her partner's 'your city...state, your zip code.'

After Jordan's character left home to go into the service, the writer was seen experiencing an emotional moment, and an offscreen character expressed that 'real love takes sacrifice.'

Shots of the happy couple venturing through New York City were juxtaposed with tense clips of the two, although King reassured his girlfriend that 'we can make this work.'

They then welcomed their son, Jordan, into their lives, and King recalled that 'you came into our lives, and it was a blessing.'
