The UK's favourite survival reality show returns later this month - and preparations for the highly-anticipated 21st series are still happening on a vast scale.

Epic aerial images of the I'm A Celebrity camp in Gwrych Castle, north Wales, showcase the extraordinary efforts of the behind-the-scenes team who have been pulling out all the stops to ensure renovations are complete in time.

The Grade I listed 19th-century country house, located near Abergele in picturesque Conwy County will play host to the long-running ITV show for the second consecutive year due to travel restrictions surrounding its usual home on Australia's east coast, currently in the midst of another lockdown

Despite a flurry of rumours circulating about the prospect showbiz stars set to be put through their paces in the upcoming instalment of the show, the focus on Friday was the expansive set which appears to have grown considerably in size since last year.

The bird's-eye view captured several sprawling marquees, including a lone tent positioned in the grounds of the fortress.

Rows of marquees will play host to the family of the campmates when they visit the site.

The plethora of aerial images proved that the famous faces set to inhabit the fortress come the end of the month could be in for some intriguing challenges, if the setting is anything to go by.

In further preparations for the upcoming series, once again hosted by Ant and Dec, builders worked on large black structure seen to one side of the castle.

It could be a prime location for the celebrities to battle for those all-important stars - which turn into meals for the camp.
