ABBA have revealed they are keen to write the UK's Eurovision Song Contest entry - but they want Dua Lipa to sing it.
The Swedish pop group know the secret to Eurovision success having won the competition in 1974 with mega-hit Waterloo.
The UK's entrants haven't had the same luck - with last year's performer James Newman scoring zero points at May's ceremony with his performance of Embers in Rotterdam.
Yet ABBA's Bjorn Ulvaeus, 76, and Benny Andersson, 74, said they could turn this around if Dua would put herself forward to perform.
Incredible: ABBA have revealed they are keen to write the UK's Eurovision Song Contest entry - but they want Dua Lipa to sing it (pictured in 2021)
The pair appeared on Friday's episode of BBC Breakfast as they discussed the news that Dua's management, TaP Music, is scouting a singer to compete for the UK at Eurovision 2022, which will be held at the PalaOlimpico in Turin, Italy.
They went on to say they'd like to see Dua herself sing the UK's entry and insisted they would be up for penning the track for the right act.
Benny continued: 'Picking an act is one thing, writing a song is different. So you need both a great song and a good act.'
Fingers crossed! Dua's management is on a hunt for the next Eurovision entrant, but ABBA think they should just submit Dua herself (pictured in
