Kim Cattrall has joined the cast of How I Met Your Father, according to Variety.
The Sex And The City star will play a future version of Hilary Duff's character Sophie, whose love life will be chronicled in the How I Met Your Mother spin-off for Hulu.
Cattrall's casting news comes after the actress, 65, declined an invitation to appear in the Sex And The City reboot And Just Like That, which has been filming around NYC for the past several months.

Framed the same was as the Josh Radnor/Jason Segel/Cobie Smulders-lead How I Met Your Mother, How I Met Your Father will follow Duff's Sophie and her tight-knit group of pals in flashbacks to 2021, when the gang is in the middle of 'figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options.' (In the original Bob Saget narrated from the future and it's likely Cattrall's role could be similar.)
In addition to Hilary, the cast includes Chris Lowell, Tom Ainsley, Tien Tran, Francia Raisa, and Suraj Sharma.
Cattrall became beloved as the snarky and sexy Samantha Jones during her six season run on the original Sex And The City.
She earned five Emmy nominations for the role and appeared in the two Sex And The City films.
Though playing Samantha accelerated her stardom, Cattrall has been vocal about her feud with her former co-star Sarah Jessica Parker.
In 2019, Kim took a jab at SJP while confirming she would not be returning to the franchise.
Speaking with MailOnline, the beauty made light of her ongoing feud, even hinting the actress wasn't a 'good person'.
