Season 17 of The Block drew to a close on Sunday night with a nail-biting auction.

Mitch Edwards and Mark McKie, who placed fifth in season 15 back in 2019, came out on top for this year's Fans v Faves, with $744,000 in prize money.  

Teams were hard at work to complete renovations on five dated houses in just 12 weeks at Bronte Court, in the affluent Melbourne suburb of Hampton, with the properties selling for no less than a cool $3million.

Season 15 stars Mitch Edwards, 59, and Mark McKie, 60, returned to The Block for Fans v Faves where they certainly gave winning the top spot a red-hot go. 

The stylish Sydney couple had a new reserve of $3.4million at auction, selling their stunning home for $4,044,444.44 with a $644,444.44 profit.

As winners of the series, they took home an additional $100,000 in prize money.

Josh and Luke Packham, sold for $3,930,000.00 with a $530,000.00 profit  

The twins experienced their fair share of ups and downs during the season including the controversial white board scandal, but came out on top at auction day.
