Eccentric rich lister Danny Wallis raised eyebrows on Sunday's episode of The Block after he made a string of bizarrely specific, down-to-the-cent bids at auction.

And the Melbourne-based IT entrepreneur has now explained his bizarre bidding style, insisting that he simply enjoy adding drama to the auction process.

'They say auctions are meant to be theatre, so you can't just let the theatre go to the auctioneer,' he told 3AW radio host Neil Mitchell on Monday.

'You've got to be part of it, also!'

Wallis, who boasts a reported net worth of $120million, bought not one but three houses this year for a combined $12.2million.

The quirky businessman kept his winning streak, having bought three homes at last year's auction for almost $12million, and viewers at home flocked to Twitter to either praise or mock his unique bidding style that often comes right down to the cent.

Danny purchased Mitch and Mark's winning house for $4,044,444.44, Tanya and Vito's for $3.8 million and one cent, and Kirsty and Jesse's for $4,401,523.67.

He will donate Tanya and Vito's stunning home to My Room Children's Cancer Charity.

Viewers at home were either amused or annoyed by Danny's very precise way of bidding right down to the cent, with one simply posting on Twitter, 'Shut up Danny!!'
