Joanna Gaines reflected on a time when she tried to be a bit more spontaneous, as she had always 'preferred the safe side of life.'
The 43-year-old Fixer Upper star shared that for one week she wore a nose ring because she hoped to be more 'wild and free' like her younger sister Mary Kay-McCall aka 'Mikey.'
Reflecting on her fleeting 2017 piercing in the winter issue of her quarterly magazine The Magnolia Journal (obtained by People), Gaines said it was ultimately 'way outside of my comfort zone.'

Gaines had gotten her nose pierced in 2017 but only kept the nose adornment for one week.

Writing about the fleeting piercing Gaines said: 'Getting a nose ring was way outside my comfort zone — I've always preferred the safe side of life.'
Joanna added that she tried to take a page out of her sister Mikey's book as she had always been 'the opposite.'
