Channel 10's Making It bombed in the ratings earlier this year.

But despite the fact nobody watched it, the network still had to fork over $100,000 to the show's winner, prop maker George.

Now TV Tonight has compiled some of the other notable shows that featured big cash prizes but attracted very little interest from viewers.

In 2004, Channel 10 gave away a whopping $2million to the winners of renovation series The Hot House.

Hosted by Erika Heynatz, the show saw couples attempt to build a dream home on Queensland's Bribie Island.

It's not the only reno show that failed to catch on in the ratings, with 2009's homeMADE
