Olympian Lisa Curry has announced her plans to release a memoir detailing her swimming career and the tragic death of her eldest daughter. 

The book will be called Lisa: 60 Years of Life, Love & Loss and will be released in May, The Sunday Telegraph reports. 

The memoir, published by Harper Collins, will address the illness and devastating death of Curry's daughter Jaimi, who passed at age 33 in September, 2020.

'I have lived a pretty big life, with a lot of love, and some very heavy losses. This book is both my story and my survival guide for others,' Lisa, 59, said in a statement.   

Lisa was initially writing the book before the death of Jaimi, but took a hiatus after becoming overwhelmed by grief./  

However, she said with 'a bit of prompting, a few false starts and some empathy', she was finally able to finish the book.

The tome will also delve into her professional and personal life from her journey as young mother to one of Australia's most beloved athletes. 

It will also discuss her relationship with her father, her frustration at not getting on the Olympic dais and her relationship with ex-husband, Grant Kenny.  

In addition to this, it will also follow life lessons from her training, positive body image, dealing with trolls, and focusing on mental and physical health.

In her statement, Lisa said she was initially asked to write a memoir nine years ago, but turned down the opportunity.
