The 49th annual International Emmy Awards drew a crowd of glamorous industry insiders and television stars on a global scale, Monday evening. Held at Casa Cipriani in New York City, the best and brightest on-screen talent as well as broadcasting, production and distribution executives from over 24 countries, convened in-person for a night of international recognition. Some notable names who put their fashion foot forward included Insecure's Yvonne Orji — who was tapped to host — Vanessa Williams and Piper Perabo with all three ladies showcasing their personal style. Yvonne Orji, 37, went for over the top glamour as she donned a billowing tulle gown in a bold shade of mustard. A dramatic silhouette and extensive train were coupled with feathered shoulders and a plunging neckline. The 49th annual International Emmys resumed its tradition of recognizing a variety of programming from outside of the United States at an in-person gathering. Categories included arts, comedy, non-scripted, documentary, drama, short-form, non-english language and telenovela. UK actress Hayley Squires won Best Actress for Adult Material, while Scottish actor David Tennant won the Best Actor award for Des. Dr. Thomas Bellut, Director General of German national broadcaster ZDF, received the International Academy's 2021 Directorate Emmy Award. All attendees were required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and additionally had to present a negative COVID-19 test taken prior to the event.
