But as it turns out Britney Spears is not involved in The Weeknd's The Idol, according to TMZ.
According to their sources, the songstress, 39, has not been asked to join the Blinding Light singer's show.

Her team is also not sure what film she is referencing in her caption. However, the site states it is possible she is producing her own movie at home.
Britney announced her new project on Instagram on Tuesday, writing: 'I just shot a movie titled "THE IDOL" … it's guaranteed to have hits and a lot bright pics to put in my beautiful family’s faces !!!!!' she crowed on Instagram.
'I hope you guys are having a merry ole jolly time cause I sure am !!!! If I go quiet from time to time, you can catch me with this cat somewhere !!!!' she added.
The post came one day after Variety reported that a six-episode drama series called The Idol starring The Weeknd has been commissioned by HBO.

The Weeknd will star amid a cast that includes Johnny Depp's daughter Lily-Rose Depp, Showgirls lead Elizabeth Berkley and Another World star Anne Heche.
