While millions of families around America were sharing turkey dinners with their families, Pee-Wee Herman instead paid homage to a holiday classic.

The 69-year-old comedian (real name Paul Reubens) shared a photo of his dinner on Twitter, a faithful recreation of the unconventional dinner in the 1973 special A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.

The tweet got nearly 600 retweets and over 6,200 likes in just a few hours.

'Dinner's ready!!! Thanks, Snoopy!!!' the comedian said in his tweet, sent on Thursday afternoon.

The accompanying photo featured all of the items from the makeshift dinner Charlie Brown, Snoopy and Linus prepares for their friends: toast, popcorn, pretzels, jelly beans and an ice cream sundae with a cherry on top.

The original 25-minute special aired on the CBS network in 1973, and became an annual staple, though the network skipped the special in 1982, 1983 and 1988.
