He's the sports presenter for Channel Seven's flagship breakfast program Sunrise.

And Mark Beretta has now revealed his biggest regret about his career in television and sports commentary.

The 55-year-old told New Idea he misses out on 'family time in the morning' because of his early starts.

In hindsight, he wishes he'd spent more quality time at home with his children when they were younger. 

'When the kids were little, they went to bed early and all the lights were off in our house by 7pm. But now they are staying up later and sleeping in, and you're missing that family time in the morning,' he said. 

'Looking back, you think, I would have loved to spend more time at home, but life is what it is and you make the most of it.' 

Despite this, Beretta has 'no complaints' about his job and is 'very grateful' to be in the position he's in because it has given his family
