And Barry Humphries proved last week he's still sharp as a tack at 87 when he pretended to confuse a British TV presenter with his colleague who recently came out as gay.
The funnyman, best known for his alter ego Dame Edna Everage, was being interviewed on ITV chat show This Morning when he congratulated fill-in host Dermot O'Leary on his 'courage' for coming out late in life.
O'Leary of course isn't gay: it was regular host Phillip Schofield who came out last year at the age of 57.

'Incidentally, I want to congratulate you, by the way, seriously, on your courage,' Humphries said to O'Leary, who has been married to wife Dee Koppang since 2012.
He kept his poker face on as co-host Alison Hammond burst into laughter and O'Leary appeared somewhat confused.
Hammond continued to chuckle as Humphries said: 'Last year, no, no, when he came out and told us about his sexuality.'
