In front of the great and good of the fashion world, a number of designers were awarded with sought-after wins, with Kim Jones leading the way. Kim, 48, was bestowed with the Designer Of The Year Award and a nod in the Creativity category, while fashion legend Tommy Hilfiger received the top prize and the late Virgil Abloh got a posthumous nod days after his death. The Leaders Of Change category saw recognition for 15 designers, brands, creatives, and individuals who created positive change within the fashion industry under the categories environment, people and creativity. Kim was named in the Creativity category for his Dior and Fendi. Also in Creativity with a posthumous nod was Virgil for Louis Vuitton Men & Off-White. His family also issued a statement about his death on Instagram, writing that 'for over two years, Virgil battled a rare form of cancer, cardiac angiosarcoma: 'He chose to endure his battle privately since his diagnosis in 2019'.
