Heartbroken: An emotional Lisa Curry broke down over the death of her daughter Jaimi Kenny during an appearance on Channel Seven's The Morning Show on Wednesday 'It has been really hard and people have been really supportive,' she said, adding that it's been a 'very difficult' time for her. 'I think what I have learnt most is that every second person walking along the street is going through the same thing, so it’s really important to be empathetic of people and be kind to people and just know that people are walking around, feeling like this all the time but people don’t know about it.' Last week, the Olympian announced plans to release a memoir detailing her swimming career and the tragic death of her eldest daughter. The book will be called Lisa: 60 Years of Life, Love & Loss and will be released in May, The Sunday Telegraph reports. The memoir, published by Harper Collins, will address the illness and devastating death of Curry's daughter Jaimi, who passed at age 33 in September, 2020. 'I have lived a pretty big life, with a lot of love, and some very heavy losses. This book is both my story and my survival guide for others,' Lisa, 59, said in a statement. Tragedy: Jaimi, who Lisa shared with former Ironman Grant Kenny, died from eating disorder last year at age 33 Lisa was initially writing the book before the death of Jaimi, but took a hiatus after becoming overwhelmed by grief. Lisa has been open about the her loss of daughter Jaimi, who died in September of 2020. Posting to Instagram in April, Lisa admitted she still struggles to talk about her loss, and experiences 'pain and fear' on a daily basis. 'Our Jaimi. My brain has thoughts and conversations that my mouth can't say,' she wrote next to a throwback photo of herself cuddling up to her daughter. 'It's hard to talk about the pain and fear that is felt daily. Life goes on. People say you get stronger... You don't. You just learn to hide it better,' she continued. Lisa revealed she 'constantly stops' to remember that her daughter is gone, and feels sorry Jaimi never got to meet her nephew Taj, who was born two months after her death. 'So many beautiful moments that she would have loved. But we still include her in everything we do,' she added, explaining that she 'talks about Jaimi often' with her three-year-old grandson, Flynn Gruell. The Olympic swimmer went on to encourage people who are struggling to seek the help they need. It was later reported that Jaimi had battled alcoholism and an eating disorder before her death at a Sunshine Coast hospital.
