A Married At First Sight star has joined the chorus of misinformation spreading on social media about the trial of Ghislaine Maxwell.
Tamara Joy, who appeared on the 2019 season of the Nine reality show, posted a meme on Instagram that falsely claimed the media wasn't covering the trial.
The meme showed Leonardo DiCaprio's character in the 2019 film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood pointing at a television, alongside the text: 'Me when the media doesn't cover any part of the Ghislaine Maxwell trial until she ends up offing herself in her cell just when the security cameras go out.'

Contrary to the meme's suggestion, the trial has been extensively covered, with AFP Fact Check reporting hundreds of journalists were present when proceedings opened in New York, and a judge's order makes clear that members of the media are permitted inside the courtroom - despite social media posts claiming otherwise.
Tamara's post is far from the only example of online misinformation about Maxwell's trail and its coverage in the press.
