Josh Hartnett appeared set for a long career in Hollywood before turning his back on Tinseltown to return to his home in Minnesota.
Now the actor has revealed in an interview with News.com.au the one role he regrets turning down during his early Hollywood career.
Hartnett, 43, was offered a role in the award-winning 2005 film Brokeback Mountain, which was eventually taken up by the late Australian actor Heath Ledger.

'Unfortunately, I was going to do Brokeback Mountain,' Hartnett said.
'And I had a contract with the (2006 film) Black Dahlia that I had to film, so I had to drop out of it,' he continued.
Josh explained that he was originally meant to star in the romantic drama with Joaquin Phoenix.
