A positive Christmas message from Today Extra on social media has bizarrely been bombarded with comments from anti-vaxxers and conspiracy theorists.

The post on the show's Instagram page featured an image of co-host's David Campbell and Silvia Jeffreys smiling for the camera with Christmas trees in the background and tinsel with red baubles in the foreground.

'Only 18 sleeps until Christmas! What are you asking Santa for?' the caption asked.

The comments section was spammed with a series of responses from those generally against vaccine mandates to rabid anti-vaxxers and conspiracy theorists.

'A non-corrupt system with no mandates or future lockdowns and for the fear mongering bull shit MSM propaganda to stop, that includes the Burnett Institution who have zero f***en clue about modelling,' answered one user to the question.

'Medical freedom. Equality. Basically life as it was back in 2019,' wrote another.
