Armie Hammer has been replaced in the upcoming soccer movie Next Goal Wins.
Deadline.com reported Friday that Will Arnett has taken over for Hammer in the big screen comedy being directed by Taika Waititi.
The decision was made, according to the outlet, because Hammer was not available to do re-shoots for the movie.
New role: Will Arnett, pictured in January 2020, has replaced Armie Hammer in the upcoming soccer comedy Next Goal Wins, Deadline.com reported Friday
Next Goal Wins is based on the true story of the American Samoa soccer team who infamously lost 31-0 to Australia in a World Cup qualifying game.
Set in 2014, the comedy follows the team's attempt to qualify for that year's FIFA World Cup after hiring a down-on-his-luck coach to try and turn heir fortunes around.
Arnett takes on the role of an executive at the Football Federation American Samoa while Michael Fassbender stars as the coach.
