Rebecca Maddern left Channel Nine last year after more than five years with the network, and headed straight for rival channel Seven. 

The former Australian Ninja Warrior host revealed on Saturday that she has landed her dream job at the Seven network. 

The 44-year-old confirmed she will be 7News Melbourne's weekend newsreader along with Mike Amor.

'It is a job of a lifetime; these opportunities don't come up very often,' she told The Herald Sun. 

'You only have to look at the main anchors and how long they have been in those roles, so it is not lost on me how lucky I am.'
