Former Channel 10 newsreader Tracey Spicer has revealed she is battling Covid-19

The journalist and author, 55, shared her diagnosis on social media earlier this week and also wrote a lengthy post about her symptoms on LinkedIn on Wednesday.

Spicer, who received a positive result from a PCR test, said her symptoms 'hit like a freight train' and also described the fatigue from the virus as 'debilitating'.

Tracey said she first had a RAT test (rapid antigen test) that confirmed she had coronavirus, before getting a PCR test.

She said her symptoms began on Sunday. 

'On Sunday morning, I felt fabulous. Then, I felt a tickle in the back of my throat. This is not unusual as I often get hayfever,' she said.

After doing a RAT test, that came back positive, Tracey said she 'immediately self-isolated' with her family.
