Emily made the candid admission after curious campmate Beau Ryan asked if she was obligated to attend 'random' events.

She said that she attended 'to get paid', admitting that it was 'money to survive', before explaining there were different 'tiers'.
Emily said that the top tiers - one to eight - only earned $30,000 a year, leaving Beau, 36, stunned by her revelation.
'Hang on. Time out. Say this again to me, please... Please listen to this,' responded a shocked Beau as he called for the attention of their other campmates.

'So, our swimming contracts are done every year, and every year, you've gotta, like, re-try and make the top tier,' explained Emily.
She added: 'One to eight is 30, $30,000 for the year. Thirty is our biggest contract.'
Beau said he needed a moment to 'let that sink in', and admitted he was shocked they were paid so little.
