Candice Warner has made no secret of her struggles raising three children alone while her husband David spends most of the year playing cricket overseas.

So it's unsurprising the 36-year-old is looking forward to some 'me time' in 2022 while working as a commentator at the Nutri-Grain IronMan and IronWoman Series.

'Being a mum of three is extremely tough but very rewarding, and being able to work and be back on the beach is going to be one of those dream jobs,' she told Woman's Day on Monday.

'When you know the sport, love it and know the competitors, I don't see it as work; I see it as a great day at the beach,' she added.

The former Ironwoman, who is also training to compete in the 2022 Summer of Surf series, was asked whether she hopes her daughters, Ivy, six, Indi, four, and Isla, two, will become professional athletes like their parents.

'I don't think they will, but you never know,' she replied. 

'They do love going to the beach and paddling boards. Recently I took Ivy out on a board and she loved that, but I think I would be petrified seeing my daughter go
