Shania Twain celebrated Taylor Swift after the Blank Space singer dethroned her as the female artist with the most weeks at number one on the Billboard Country Albums Chart.

The 56-year-old songstress quote-tweeted a post by a Taylor fan account that shared the news that Taylor's albums had held the top spot for 98 weeks, beating Shania's record of 97 weeks.

'Let's Go Girls!!!! Proud of you @taylorswift.' Shania tweeted.

She continued, 'Historical records are meant to be made and then broken.

Though the Pennsylvania-born singer-songwriter now holds the top spot for a female artist, Garth Brooks maintains the all-time record with 169 weeks at number one.

The band Alabama comes in second overall with 125 weeks with Willie Nelson in third with 106. 

After re-recording her first six albums, Taylor topped the charts twice in 2021. In April, her album Fearless charted at number one for three weeks.  

Her album Red (Taylor's Version) spent seven weeks on top after it was released on November 12.
