The Weeknd took self-loathing to a whole new level in the music video for his new song Gasoline.  

The singer-songwriter, 31, released the music video which shows the star as he chases down and then savagely beats up an older version of himself. 

The beating takes place in a busy club where dozens of people laugh, dance and embrace.

While it appears fun and exciting from the outside, more sinister images flash quickly across the screen. 

Some of these more grisly moments show previously average-looking individuals with eyes missing, rotten teeth and other facial deformities. 

The Blinding Lights singer chased after his older self through the crowded club before catching up to and shoving a device into his ear.
