Love Island star Amber Gill has weighed in on Molly-Mae Hague's widely-discussed wealth equality comments - branding her views 'damaging'.

Speaking on her YouTube channel, the star, 24, was grilled by fans in a Q&A and revealed the overruling question was about a now-viral video of Molly-Mae speaking on a podcast and proclaiming: 'We all have the same 24 hours in a day'.

After sparking backlash on the 'tone deaf' stance, Amber vowed not to add to the 'pile-on' of critique on the star but conceded that her mixed race background meant she could not share the view and also lamented those living in poverty.

Amber and Molly-Mae starred together on the fifth season of Love Island in 2019, where the former won the show and the latter found love with boxer Tommy Fury.

Having scooped a legion of brand deals and lucrative contracts - including being named PrettyLittleThing's creative director - Molly-Mae, 22, is deemed on of the show's successful contestants yet caused shockwaves last week.

An interview, which was first shared on YouTube on December 13, went viral when shared on Twitter, and sparked outrage from fans after Molly-Mae insisted she had worked her 'a**e off' for her success - before later apologising.

In a video shared on Tuesday called Answering Your Deepest Questions, Amber apologised to fans for her absence from YouTube and vowed to make 2022 The Year Of YouTube and asked fans to subscribe to her channel for 'really good content'.

She explained that the main question to arise referenced Molly-Mae's comments about success and her statement: 'We all have the same 24 hours in the day'.

Returning to the question, she went on: 'However do I think we all have the same 24 hours? I just don't. Because I come from a mixed race background and I can see different perspectives I don't have that view...
