And Just Like That... Episode Seven SPOILER ALERT

After mourning Big for the first six episodes of And Just Like That..., Carrie is forced to return to the dating world - however the big comeback is in fact for professional purposes.

The new episode, entitled Sex And The Widow, which hit screens on Thursday, sees the writer, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, put pen to paper to document the agony of being widowed for her memoir, yet when she is told the book is too dark, her publisher urges her to go on a date to make for a fitting epilogue.

While Carrie's boozy return to the dating world is chronicled, Miranda, depicted by Cynthia Nixon, is left struggling with her non-existent sex life, which drives her back into the arms of Carrie's boss, non-binary Ché Diaz, played by Sara Ramirez, who she lauds for giving her the best sex of her life during their extramarital dalliance.

Away from Carrie's dating and Miranda's sex life, Kristen Davis' character Charlotte is seen negotiating her way through tough spots in her marriage as she scolds Harry for 'mansplaining'.

Uh oh! After mourning Big for the first six episodes of And Just Like That..., Carrie is forced to return to the dating world - however the big comeback is in fact for professional purposes and ends in her vomiting due to too much booze

The episode opens with Carrie working on her laptop in a timelapse sequence as the seasons pass, with leaves falling, rain tumbling and snow cascading from the sky while her looks change in the montage.

Billy Evans' 1938 song Spring Is Here played over the top while Carrie looks emotional as viewers later discover she is penning her memoir - a record of life as a widow and living with grief and loss.

Carrie is then seen suited and booted in a meeting with her agent Amanda, who reveals the proof of her book had left her in tears, to which Carrie said: 'I'm so relieved, your message was so cryptic I was afraid you hated it'.

Much to Carrie's delight and then shock, Amanda says: 'I want to fast track it for the Christmas season - I just have one note. This whole thing is so raw and so brutal. You spent your whole career talking about your quest for love. Then you finally find it and then he dies. It's pretty dark. It's a real departure for you as a character'.

Sagely nodding, Carrie replies: 'Well that's what happened. He departed.'

The agent responded: 'But you're know for writing Sex And The City. I'm afraid if we publish this as is, your readers are gonna jump out the window clutching their tubs of Häagen-Dazs.'

Carrie replied: 'Well that is certainly not what I want', before her agent said: 'I would love and I think this is easily done, we could give the readers some element of hope. Just a suggestion of a brighter future. For example I imagine at some point you're gonna start dating again.

Seemingly bewildered, Carrie replies: 'I mean, I'm not even thinking about that yet', before the agent says: 'I mean there's a tiny part of you that's open to the idea of just one date it would be great if it could happen in the next few weeks. I would love to hit that stocking stuffer deadline.'

Still stunned, Carrie asks: 'You want me to go on a date?', before it's suggested that the date is merely 'one page - not a chapter - just an epilogue for a glimmer of hope'.

Things turn to Charlotte and her Soccer Mom existence, as she meets up with her pal Lisa, played by Nicole Ari Parker, for a game of tennis and reveals Carrie has agreed to be 'an auction item' at their school benefit.

She bumps into her Columbia Law professor, Nya Wallace, played by Karen Pittman, who introduces Miranda to her husband Andre, played by LeRoy McClain, who recalls Miranda's feisty attack on a reveller with Nya on Halloween - which she calls 'her greatest achievement but still gives nightmares'.

After detailing their fertility struggles, Nya sadly tells Miranda she got her period that morning. She says: 'You know, we're still off the IVF but trying. I was almost two weeks late. I shouldn't have told him.'

Steve then arrives and is introduced to Nya, before saying: 'I have been dying to meet you, you are the only person I know who intimidates her', yet Nya insists they 'intimidate each other'.

Carrie then heads to her publisher's office, where she 'drops in' on Amanda following their uncomfortable meeting, and discusses her concerns over the book cover proposals for her memoir.

The book - entitled Loved And Lost: A Memoir - has a moody cover showing a black and white image of the ocean, which leads Carrie to say: 'Maybe the book is too heavy. Even you said my readers don't want all that sadness from me. Maybe I just needed to write the book for myself.'

Amanda insists: 'I respectfully disagree. In fact, when I pitched the epilogue to the Oprah's Book Club people, they said they were very interested', causing excitement from Carrie: 'Oprah, really?'

A girls' dinner ensues, as Charlotte, Miranda and Carrie are seen on a night out alongside Carrie's latest pal Seema Patel, played by Sarita Choudhury, who entered the show as her real estate agent before becoming friends.

As she regales news of her prospective date, Charlotte reveals she has been 'waiting for her to be ready' and has a string of divorced fathers from her kids' school waiting to wine and dine the author.

Carrie reveals: 'Well I'm not completely ready, it was just mandated by my editor', as Miranda utters: 'Well a mandates a mandate what are you gonna do?', before Seema quips: 'Date a man!'.

While Charlotte promises to introduce Carrie to men at the aforementioned school fundraiser, Carrie insists she does not want to date anyone anybody knows: 'Is there an app that can knock you out while someone posts your photos and answers those questionaries?' -  yet Seema comes to the rescue.

She says: 'I've already listed you on three different apps... On Valentine's Day. Nobody buys real estate in Winter, so I listed you! You're doing very well, there's a lot of buzz'.

After looking through her perspective suitors, she then vowed: 'No sex for me... indefinitely. all I need from this is pleasant enough conversation so that I can be a stocking stuffer.'

While walking home with Miranda, Carrie admits: 'The thought of having sex with anyone but Big makes me sick to my stomach. When I look back at my dating life it's like a rollercoaster. And I'm talking one of those old, wooden ones where it's more life-threatening than fun.'

Talk turns to Miranda's queer fling with Carrie's boss Ché, after admitting 'no news is no news', after Carrie voiced her hope that Miranda's lack of updates on her dead relationship with Steve was a good thing.
