Channel Seven has seen a ratings boost following the leak of an off-air expletive-filled rant from Rebecca Maddern and Mike Amor about tennis star Novak Djokovic

And now a TV expert has revealed just why viewers so so impressed by the gaffe. 

Speaking to News Corp, editor of TV Tonight, David Knox, says that the 'chemistry' and 'authenticity' of the two anchors shone through.

'Australians like to know that you are 'one of us' (so) it could potentially work in their favour. If it's not authentic the audience sees right through it,' he said. 

'I don't think Seven have anything to worry about as the two presenters come across as friends having a chat.

'These two have shown they're not fake and actually have a friendship – that's not always the case in TV land,' he added.
