Carrie Bickmore has revealed that she is 'desperate' to see her extended family in Western Australia - but isn't sure the border reopening is a good idea. 

Speaking on Tuesday's episode of The Project, the host, 41, said: 'To be honest, I assumed it would never happen, I was waiting for him to continue to change the date, I assumed I would never see them ever again at this rate. 

'But if it does stay at February 5th it is an interesting conversation.'

She added: 'I think throughout the pandemic things have changed along the way about whether it's appropriate to open up or not.

'But now I can imagine a lot of them looking at what's happening on the east coast and going, why would we want any of that?
