The producers behind this year's Academy Awards are currently searching for a host for the 94th annual Oscars but it won't be Ricky Gervais.
The 60-year-old comedian revealed that he would 'never' helm the esteemed film awards show because he wouldn't be allowed to do what he wanted, during an appearance Today with Hoda & Jenna on Tuesday.
Ricky has hosted the Golden Globes five times now but explained that he knows the rules would be very different for the Oscars and he's just not interested.

'I'd be canceled halfway through,' he joked while appearing virtually on the morning show.
'They'd never let me do what I wanted. That's why the Globes got me,' he went on to explain. 'They said I can write my own jokes and say what I want, no rehearsals. The Oscars would never. And if the Oscars said that, then I'd do it but that would never happen.'
Gervais' stint as Golden Globes host raised more than a few eyebrows due to his hysterical and often merciless jokes at the expense of Hollywood's well-heeled.
He recently confessed on The Graham Norton Show that, despite the spot on delivery of his zingers, he gets nervous before roasting the Golden Globe's star-studded audience.
