The 36-year-old made the shock announcement during a late-night discussion with his campmates, where he abruptly said he missed his family and needed to leave.
'As you know the last couple of days I've been struggling, and today I was a bit broken. It's been really hard for me,' he said.

'The reason I did this show is to test myself, which I have. I've shown Australia the good, bad and ugly of me.

He added that he 'can't explain' how it feels to have met such a wonderful group of people, before saying how he needed to be with his wife Kara and their daughter Remi, eight, and three-year-old son, Jesse.
