Thursday's intense tennis spectacle saw Nick Kyrgios go down against Russia's Daniil Medvedev during the second round of the Australian Open.

The 26-year-old Aussie fought gallantly against the World No. 2, losing three sets to one, but it was Kyrgios' leaking hair dye that had the crowd talking.

Fans were left baffled when Kyrgios' black hair dye melted and dribbled down his forehead, prompting some to liken the tennis pro to Donald Trump's former attorney Rudy Giuliani.

'Is that a bit of "Just for Men" dribbling down Kyrgios’ forehead?' tweeted football reporter James Dodd.

The Twitter account for sports gambling website PointsBet wrote: 'Nick Kyrgios or Rudy Giuliani?'

The tweet included a photo of Giuliani's infamous hair-dye mishap that occurred during a press conference he held in the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election.

Kyrgios crumbled in his tough second-round Australian Open match against the World No. 2, with the frustrated Aussie blowing up at the chair umpire - and even the crowd - before smashing his racket.

He fought hard against Medvedev but eventually went down 7-6(1), 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.

The army of screaming fans did all they could to get the hometown hero back in the contest at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena after he was slapped with a time violation and two code violations.

The furious Australian had several heated exchanges with the match official and the crowd during Thursday night's showdown, including two furious rows about towels.

He yelled: 'I don't want to talk to you, listen to me!' to the umpire and exploded at the crowd to 'stop screaming out while I'm f***ing serving'.
