Tahlia Giumelli stunned in a white slinky wedding dress as she and Rabbitohs star Tom Burgess tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony in Sydney The couple announced their engagement on New Year's Eve in 2019, after three years of dating. Daily Mail Australia confirmed last week that Tom and Tahlia would tie the knot in a waterfront park ceremony with friends and family. Sources close to the pair confirmed the service would finally go ahead and that all the Burgess brothers - including SAS Australia winner Sam - would have roles to play in the proceedings. It's understood lifelong Souths fan and close family friend Russell Crowe also RSVP'd to the event along with a large Souths contingent both past and present. The confirmation followed several major setbacks for the young parents. The couple were forced to postpone their nuptials on several occasions and were forced to ditch their most recent set of wedding plans in December after Tom contracted Covid-19 during a holiday to Byron Bay. Tom and Tahlia first announced their postponement of their original wedding plans back in July following two years of intricate planning. Earlier this month, Tahlia made some wedding place cards for guests with the help of a friend. 'Wedding things,' she captioned a picture of the pair cutting the tags while sitting at a dining room table. On December 11, Tahlia shared an Instagram post to mark what would have been the couple's wedding day, as she complained about having to wait until another date. 'Happy "should have been" wedding day,' she began. 'We should have been saying our vows right now in front of our family and friends in Byron Bay and celebrating with one too many cocktails. 'Instead we turned it into a family holiday, made some more memories and soaking up the pre-wedding bliss that is still to come.' In July, Tom and Tahlia announced they'd had to postpone their wedding. At the time, she wrote on Instagram: 'After almost two years of planning. Tom and I had to make the sad decision to postpone and move our wedding venue completely. 'With another wave of Covid hitting NSW our priority is and always will be the safety of our family and friends. 'I have no doubt when it happens it will be just as amazing. Really feel for all the brides who have had to do the same. But right now a I wedding didn't seem like a number one priority'.
