She recently shared her secret to looking and feeling youthful ahead of her 45th birthday. 

But on Friday, even the biggest Alex Pike fan would have done a double take after she debuted a dramatic hair transformation. 

The glamorous girlfriend of AFL star Nathan Buckley, who usually sports long brown locks, flaunted her freshly chopped hair in footage shared on her Instagram Stories.

'Chop,' she simply captioned the flirtatious video of herself smiling as she tossed her head from side-to-side.

In addition to her video, Alex also reposted a behind-the-scenes picture from a photoshoot of herself with her newly cut hair styled in curls. 

Alex's surprising new hairdo comes three days after she showcased her impressive physique while soaking up the sun poolside in a skimpy leopard print bikini. 

The socialite also espoused her philosophy on health and beauty, saying age shouldn't be a barrier to greatness.

'I choose a happy and healthy life. I'm turning 45 this year and I truly love what I have created in my life,' she wrote on Instagram on Tuesday.

'I am thankful each morning I open my eyes. I made a commitment to myself in 2019 and have been working consistently to be stronger physically, mentally, emotionally and it has overflowed into all aspects of my life.

'Do not let age be a barrier… Don't like what you see? You can change. Stop quitting on yourself. Every single day do something that will make you feel proud.

'One walk, your first session at the gym, a yoga class on YouTube. You have everything you need inside yourself.'
