Aziz Ansari takes several jabs at NFL star and staunch anti-vaxxer Aaron Rodgers  in his upcoming Netflix comedy special, titled Aziz Ansari: Nightclub Comedian.

Rodgers, the 38-year-old quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, has been the subject of controversy after he claimed he was 'immunized' against COVID-19 but later admitted to being unvaccinated and, eventually, caught the virus.

He then poured fuel on the fire, saying that he was a 'victim' of a 'woke mob' who criticized him for choosing not to get vaccinated.'

'This guy makes a living getting hit in the head. Can we cut him a break?' exclaimed Ansari, who'd encouraged his audience to be a less surprised that a football player came to 'the wrong conclusion' about vaccines.

'People hate [Aaron Rodgers]' began the Parks And Rec star, 38, before impersonating an angry 'woke mob' member: '"[Aaron's] a f**king idiot!"'

He continued: 'It’s like, alright, calm down! He’s a football player, he read some articles, he got skeptical, he did some research.

'Are you stunned that he came to the wrong conclusion? Did you really think he was gonna crack the case?' he joked.

Aziz also took a moment to highlight how ridiculous it would be if Aaron's findings had actually caught the attention of NIAID director Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Continuing to take jabs at his 'jock' status, Aziz compared the public outrage towards Aaron and his vaccine stance to that of high school students 'making fun of the quarterback for doing bad on the science test.'

'"You’re a dummy, Aaron! You’re a dummy! You don’t know anything, do you? You’re a dumb dumb,"' exclaimed Aziz with a finger pointed at an imaginary Aaron.

After mockingly coming to Rodgers' defense, Ansari touched on his 'misleading' phrasing about being 'immunized' when he was unvaccinated, as well as the subsequent interviews that made the athlete seem 'pretty arrogant' at times.

'He was out here, like, "you know, I'm a critical thinker,"' said Aziz with a laugh as he mused about Aaron 'running the scientific method' which he joked as being made up of 'listening to podcasts and talking to a few sketchy doctors.'

Cut him some slack: 'This guy makes a living getting hit in the head. Can we cut him a break?' exclaimed Ansari, who'd encouraged his audience to be a little less surprised that a football player might come to 'the wrong conclusion' about vaccines

Despite all the jabs and jokes, Ansari stressed that he does not think that Aaron Rodgers or fellow vaccine skeptic Nicki Minaj are 'idiots.' Instead, he believes they're 'trapped in a different algorithm than you are.

'You know what I mean by that? And if you're calling them idiots and stuff, then you're trapped in another algorithm.'

He continued: 'I know everything you're gonna say about everything. "Oh all these dumb [unintelligible] taking horse medicine."

'Well, technically, humans can take that medicine, alright? Yeah there's nothing that shows that it actually helps with covid but when you say they're just "taking horse medicine" it pushes them further away.'
