During an appearance on The One Show on Wednesday, the actor, 45, said he was grateful he and wife Blake Lively, 34, are able to help after they promised to match donations of up to $1 million (£748,000) made to the United Nations Refugee Agency in support of Ukrainian refugees.

He said: 'I don't pretend to be a sociopolitical expert or geopolitical expert but I do have empathy, as does my wife, for folks who have been displaced or pushed out of their homes.
