Tom Parker's widow Kelsey has detailed how the late singer's beloved bandmate Jay McGuiness moved into their family home in the star's final days.

The Glad You Came singer died aged 33 on March 30 following a battle with brain cancer - with his The Wanted bandmates rallying around his wife and two children Aurelia, two and Bodhi, 18 months.

Kelsey insists Max George, 33, Jay, 31, Siva Kaneswaran, 33, and 29-year-old Nathan Sykes will always be on hand if her offspring need them and will help raise the youngsters.

Jay moved into their family home's loft room so he could be close to Tom and on hand to help with the children when Kelsey visited Tom at the hospice,  with Kelsey telling The Sun: 'Jay stayed with us. He was upstairs in the loft room, just so I knew he was there.

'When I woke up in the mornings I knew I could just get up and go to see Tom at the hospice.

Kelsey also praised Tom's bandmates, branding them 'role models' for her children as they grow up and want to know more about their late father.

She said: 'They’re a massive part of our lives and always have been. They are role models for the kids too, so I want them to come over and have their input in their lives and to tell them stories about their dad.

'They know stories I don’t know. Bodhi’s going to want to know the stories. He is going to ask, "What did my dad get up to on the tour bus?" and he’ll be able to ask them when he’s older. They will always be there for us.'

Tom died ollowing a battle with brain cancer after he was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma in October 2020, and was given just 12 months to live by doctors.

He passed away while surrounded by family and his fellow bandmates as he listened to the Oasis song Live Forever last month.

And Kelsey is planning 'Wanted Wednesdays' when her children can watch clips of Tom performing with the group.

She said that Tom didn't leave any special messages due to his sudden decline, but admitted she felt 'grateful' that her kids could connect with their father's memory via YouTube videos of him on-stage with The Wanted,

She is grateful she can log online and find a plethora of YouTube videos of Tom on stage or on television with The Wanted.

Kelsey added that they have a collection of the band's merchandise and memorabilia, and that his autobiography is due to be published this summer which the children will be able to read.

However, Kelsey admitted she's finding it too hard herself to look at clips of Tom at the moment, adding that she has his phone but can't bring herself to go through it.

She added that whenever she logs on to Instagram, her explore page shows her pictures of Tom which she described as both 'beautiful' and 'heartbreaking'.

Meanwhile, Kelsey said she's already back at work at arts school K2K Stars which she set up with her best friend.

She said she wants to ensure she and her family are secure financially adding that, while she may have been able to not work while Tom was in The Wanted, she has always liked to keep herself busy regardless of Tom being a pop star.

She said she knew it was love at first sight the moment she met Tom at the age of 19 and they had an amazing time together throughout their relationship, enjoying brilliant holidays and multiple honeymoons.

Kelsey went on to say she has Tom's ashes safely at home in Petts Wood, Kent and hopes to get a special commemorative bench for him.

She added that there is a memorial garden nearby where she'd love the seat to be so she can go and sit with her children and spend time remembering their father.

It comes after Kelsey detailed how she held her husband's hand as he died last month, adding: 'It was still beautiful until the very end.'

She told The Sun on Sunday she was the last person by his side: 'It was just us and there was so much love in that room.'

Mother-of-two Kelsey insisted Tom was in no pain as he died and said she'd told their two-year-old daughter Aurelia that she was going to make sure angels were looking after her father.

While she fell in love with Tom as a teenager before he rose to fame with The Wanted, she says her best days with him were those shortly before his death.

The boyband star spent his last days in St Christopher’s Hospice in South London and Kelsey was there by his side throughout.

She said of the time before he died: 'I got into bed with him. We were in bed together for two hours, I just wanted that time with him. I didn’t want anyone coming in. We needed that time together to talk.'

Kelsey insisted even the days at the hospice with Tom were 'romantic', adding that he 'absolutely worshipped the ground I walked on'.

She said he was 'still trying to figure a way out' of his illness a week after he arrived at the hospice.

'I said, "You know Tom, I will be OK, the kids will be OK. I will make sure that everything you want them to know, the things that you’ve taught me over the years, I promise to teach them it all."

'He said, "I know you’re going to be OK." He then took off his wedding ring and put it on my finger.'

Kelsey said she thought Tom knew the end of his life was approaching but he still had 'fight' in him.

In September 2021, 11 months on from his diagnosis, Tom sang at the Stand Up 2 Cancer show at the Royal Albert Hall and even embarked on a Greatest Hits tour with his bandmates when the tumour was confirmed as 'stable' in November.

But Tom's condition deteriorated rapidly once the tour came to an end earlier this year.

The tragic news of his death was confirmed by Kelsey, who he has left behind along with their two children, Aurelia, two, and Bodhi, one.

Kelsey and Tom were last seen in public together at the London 02 Arena on March 15 where Tom performed with his The Wanted bandmates Max George, 33, Jay McGuinness, 31, Siva Kaneswaran, 33, and 29-year-old Nathan Sykes.

'We are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all unite to ensure Tom's light continues to shine for his beautiful children,' Tom's wife Kelsey said after his death

She was spotted tenderly kissing him on the head before he took to the stage with his group.

Kelsey said she was 'so proud' Tom chose to go on tour again but said she noticed something different about him after that performance, putting it down to exhaustion at first.

She said he went 'downhill' from there and wanted to go into the hospice while Kelsey would have preferred him to stay at home.

Kelsey claims Tom didn't want to put his loved ones through any more pain so chose to seek medical help.

Of the day he died, Kelsey said the music in his room was not turned off, describing it as his 'life' and 'passion'.
