The Los Angeles based fitness trainer told TMZ on Wednesday that he did work with Kim in the lead up to fashion's biggest night and that she put the proper amount of work in for the body transformation as he said: 'I think one of the misconceptions people have about Kim is she works like really hard, right?

'So I mean I was there through the process, so it wasn't like a starving yourself type of thing. I mean she went on a real balanced diet and at times, you know, she wouldn't eat as much. But then the second thing was she was in the gym and put the work in.'

Riverdale actress Lily Reinhart seemingly called out Kim saying her ''ignorance is other-worldly and disgusting' in a series of Instagram Stories posted after the Met Gala as she was just one of the people voicing their disgust over the lengths Kim went to just to fit into the iconic dress.

Don was asked if there was anything unhealthy about the reality star's approach and he replied: 'No not at all. Not from my end and from what I saw. I mean we were working out sometimes twice a day.'

He was asked if it was possible to lose 16lbs in a healthy way to which he answered: 'Yeah it is, it is possible to lose 20lbs in a healthy way.'

Lastly he was asked what he would say to the 25-year-old actress who blasted Kim as he replied with a laugh saying: 'Come down and see The Matrix.'

The day after the Met Gala, Lily took to her Instagram Story to write: 'To walk a red carpet and do an interview saying how starving you are because you haven’t eaten carbs in the last month … all to fit in a f***ing dress?'

She continued: 'So wrong. So f***ed on 100’s of levels. To openly admit to starving yourself for the sake of the Met Gala. When you knew very well that millions of young men and women are looking up to you and listening to your every word.'

Reinhart, who plays Betty Cooper on Riverdale, said that 'the ignorance is other-worldly and disgusting' in making a plea to her fans in support of body positivity.

'Please stop supporting these stupid, harmful celebrities whose entire image revolves around their bodies,' Reinhart said.

The Hustlers actress noted that she is normally calm, but was enraged by the nature of the remarks Kardashian made in her red carpet appearance on Monday.

'I am generally not an angry person,' Reinhart said, 'but I swear to God the toxicity of this industry sometimes really gets to me and I have to do my little Instagram Story rants to release my rage.'

Reinhart's social media statement came after Kardashian revealed the weight loss process she underwent to fit into the gown Monroe wore to President John F. Kennedy’s birthday bash in 1962, where she famously sang Happy Birthday to him.

The star said she cried when she realized she didn't fit into the iconic dress during a first try-on, but went on to lose weight just so she could model the dress for mere minutes on the NYC red carpet.

Twitter users have also criticized the star for talking openly about her extreme weight loss and her subsequent carb-loading after the gala, with one online critic pointing out that 'restricting yourself for dramatic weight loss to basically binge afterwards isn't healthy or worth it.'

On the red carpet, Kim told La La Anthony, who hosted Vogue's livestream, that when the dress didn't fit, she was still determined to lose weight to get into it.

'I had this idea to put it on and to try it on, and they came with armed guards and gloves. I tried it on and it didn’t fit me, and so I looked at them and said give me like three weeks, and I had to lose 16lbs, down today, to be able to fit this,' she said.

'It was such a challenge, it was like a role, I was determined to fit it.'

At that point, La La told her: 'When you put your mind to something there's no ... you were like eating tomatoes'.

Kim later told Vogue she went on a ruthlessly strict diet deadline in order to slim down and wear the dress to the Met, admitting she hadn't eaten 'carbs and sugar in three weeks.'

She said she thought she would fit into Marilyn's dress as 'I always thought she was extremely curvy. I imagined I might be smaller in some places where she was bigger and bigger in places where she was smaller. So when it didn’t fit me I wanted to cry because it can’t be altered at all.’

Speaking about her she lost weight, Kim explained: 'I would wear a sauna suit twice a day, run on the treadmill, completely cut out all sugar and all carbs, and just eat the cleanest veggies and protein. I didn't starve myself, but I was so strict.'

Met Gala observers took to Twitter to slam Kim's decision to diet for a dress, with one tweeting: 'the kim kardashian weight loss thing is f**ked up and NOT okay to talk about on national television where the youth will find it and bring it to therapy to defend their eating disorders.'

Another critic posted on Twitter: 'Kim said she's been avoiding carbs and as soon as the night is over she's ordering pizza. Eek, restricting yourself for dramatic weight loss to basically binge afterwards isn't healthy or worth it. We are all enough as we are.'

'Kim Kardashian looked beautiful at the Met Gala, but she has promoted unrealistic body standards for YEARS (diet teas, waist trainers, $$$ procedures, etc) and her talking about losing 16 Ibs in 3 weeks to fit into Marilyn's dress (which no one should get to wear) is appalling,' agreed another.

Another pointed out Kim's position of responsibility as a mother of four, writing: 'North West and my daughter are just days apart in age and I'm struggling to comprehend how Kim K can be at all comfortable sharing her rapid weight loss over the last 3 weeks, t's irresponsible.'

Kim lost the weight for just a few minutes in the dress, changing into a replica once she had walked the red carpet, to make sure it wasn't damaged inside the Met Gala party.
