Abbie Chatfield has hit back at critics after revealing she's been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) at the age of 26.

The Bachelor star took to her Instagram Stories over the weekend to respond to a comment calling her a 'bandwagon jumper' who concocted the diagnosis to 'get more Insta[gram] likes'.

'I don't crave attention in comments sections, unlike you,' the radio host seethed at the critic.

Chatfield then bragged that she didn't need any more attention via a mental health diagnosis.

'I have a national radio show, [the] number six podcast in the nation, I have a few things going on,' she said in the video, while plucking her eyebrows.

'How would this ADHD diagnosis being faked affect any of that?'

'Like, I have a few things going on babe,' she repeated, before accusing the woman of 'adding to stigma' surrounding mental health conditions.

Abbie's rant comes after she confirmed her diagnosis on her Hot Nights with Abbie radio show this week, saying she'd been trying to get diagnosed for her symptoms for 18 months.

Abbie also said she was disappointed the process was so difficult and 'inaccessible' to many, after going to great lengths to get an appointment with a psychiatrist, which eventually cost her 'around $700'.

Speaking out: Chatfield recently revealed she's 'finally' been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) at the age of 26

'I'm very happy to say, she got a diagnosis,' Abbie told her co-host Rohan Edwards.

'Now I am going to go on medication, the psychiatrist said that I can listen to podcasts, and there's lots of different coping mechanisms that I can research.'

ADHD is a mental health condition with symptoms that include trouble focusing, hyperactivity and impulsive behaviour.

The adult condition is treated similarly to that of childhood ADHD, with medication and counselling, according to the Mayo Clinic.
