Netflix has released a trailer for its upcoming live-action Resident Evil series, which is slated to begin streaming this summer.
The eight-episode installment of the adaptation is set over separate timelines in the years 2022 and 2036, according to a synopsis on iMDb.
In the preview clip, teenage sisters Jade and Billie Wesker and their father Albert Wesker, played by Lance Reddick, are seen arriving in New Raccoon City in 2022, as Albert tells them, 'Billie, Jade, welcome home - I really think you guys are going to love it here.'

The sisters figure out that their father could be hiding 'dark secrets that could destroy the world,' according to a synopsis from the streaming service.
The trailer then transitions into a horrifying future in London in 2036, complete with an apocalyptic landscape of explosions, gunfire and zombies.
The hellscape reflects the carnage that exists '14 years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse' leading to the deaths of six billion humans and animals, as only 15 million humans remain alive.
The series follows Jade Wesker (Ella Balinska) as she 'fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and insane creatures,' the synopsis said. 'In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father’s chilling connections to the Umbrella Corporation but mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie.'
