Kendrick Lamar released his fifth studio album on Friday and received both praise and criticism for a track about his trans family members.

And the rap superstar made sure to strike while the iron is hot as he announced a world tour while the internet was buzzing about his latest release.

The 34-year-old Compton, California native - who earned the Pulitzer Prize for Music in 2018 - will be hitting the road in support for his album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers beginning this summer.

Highly-anticipated: The tour will begin on July 19 in Oklahoma City as the supporting acts are Kendrick's cousin Baby Keem and artist Tanna Leone

His supporting acts will include Baby Keem who is his cousin and was featured on several tracks of his latest release including N95, Die Hard, Savior (Interlude), and Savior.

Artist Tanna Leone will also be featured as he is on Kendrick's record label pgLang and was on the track Mr. Morale in the new album.

The tour will begin on July 19 in Oklahoma City with a date at the Paycom Center as the US leg of dates will end in his hometown of Los Angeles with two dates at the Crypto.com Arena on September 14 and 15.

He will have five dates in England including November 3 in Leeds, November 4 in Newcastle, November 5 in Birmingham, before concluding with two dates in London at the 02 Arena on November 7 and 8.

The tour will conclude with four dates in Australia and one in Auckland, New Zealand in early December. 

This comes amid plenty of social media reaction to his track Auntie Diaries in which he raps about his trans family members.

The song was mainly met with praise on the Internet, however, there were also detractors who accused him of misgendering his relatives with pronouns use and also repeated use of an LGBTQ slur.

Kendrick begins Auntie Diaries by rapping: 'My auntie is a man now / I think I'm old enough to understand now.'

 He went on to say that his classmates in elementary school couldn't understand his uncle's transition but that didn't stop their relationship from growing.

Kendrick went on to say that his 'favorite cousin' followed the same path as his uncle as he rapped: 'Demetrius is Mary-Ann now / He's more confident to live his plan now /  But the family in disbelief this time.'
