Jason Momoa has apologised after he was criticised by fans for taking pictures inside Sistine Chapel during a recent outing to the Vatican City.
The actor, 42, has been in Rome, which surrounds the city-state of the Vatican, filming for the upcoming Fast And Furious 10: Fast X movie and took some time out to take his friends and the crew of the film for a private viewing of the chapel.
However, after posting pictures from inside the building on Instagram this week, he received critical comments from fans who pointed out the public are not able to take pictures inside usually, with one writing: 'We, regular people, are not allowed to film inside the Sistine chapel,' prompting him to apologise.

He told Just Jared: 'I just also wanted to say, if you ever felt that I disrespected your culture, it wasn't my intention.
'I came here when I was 19 or 20 to experience the Sistine Chapel. I've always wanted to and now that I can, I gave a wonderful donation to bring my friends and crew because we only had a couple days off to experience these places.
'And then I found people wanted to take pictures with me, which is very odd, during a trip to the Vatican with all this wonder and they want to take pictures with me, which I don't get, but regardless, I did.

Jason went on to say he never wanted to disrespect anyone's culture and apologised if that had happened.
The actor concluded his apology by saying he had paid to have the private tour and also gave a 'nice donation to the church'.
After seeing Jason's pictures, a number of his Instagram followers took to the site to leave comments.
'They allowed you to take pictures of the Sistine Chapel??? Wow ! Enjoy Italy,' wrote one person.
