And almost three years on, with the anticipated sequel to the 1986 original a mere ten days away from hitting cinemas, stars Glen Powell, Danny Ramirez and Jay Ellis have joined forces for a photoshoot with Men's Health. It was an arms and abs spectacular, as the trio, who are new pilots in the forthcoming film, showed off their honed physiques in a series of runway shots - although not the catwalk kind. As well as the solo snaps, the hunks acted out putting their strength to the test by attempting to pull a plane via rope. In an interview with the publication, Glen, who made his breakthrough in Scream Queens, revealed that Miles Teller had bagged the role he had worked relentlessly for - Rooster, the son of Tom Cruise’s gone-but-not-forgotten best friend Goose. 'It's the hardest thing to do as an actor, to go, "This movie's going to be absolutely incredible, but I don't feel like I know what I would do in it,"' he recalled. After learning plans for his character and how he was being rewritten, the actor got on board - and explained how he delivered the news to Tom with a famous line from the original film: 'Tom, man, I'm feeling the need.' 'He was like, "F**k yeah." It’s just a great moment when Tom gets excited about anything. It's pretty hard not to be excited,' Glen said. The sequel to Tony Scott's classic 1986 blockbuster has been unanimously praised in early reviews with one even declaring that it 'improves upon the original in every conceivable way.' Tom, who is famous for doing his own stunts, is said to have trained to withstand g-force power and actually flew in real fighter jets for the sequel. Peter Hoskin for the Daily Mail gave the film five stars, writing: 'Whenever the film threatens to become too cosy, it shocks itself – and us – back into the present with another madly ambitious action sequence.'
