David Tennant was seen shooting tense scenes for the 60th Anniversary of Doctor Who alongside Catherine Tate and newcomer Yasmin Finney on Wednesday.

The actor, 51, who first stepped into the Tardis in 2005 to play the 10th Time Lord, transformed back into the legendary Time Lord as he filmed outdoor scenes with his co-stars.

He sported his trademark look as he wore black suit trousers, a white shirt and a loosely secured grey tie, which he wore underneath a suit jacket and a draping overcoat.

David looked tense as he held up a sonic screwdriver, but it did not appear to be the 10th Doctor's recognisable device but a much flashier version of the tool.

The Scottish star stood alongside Yasmin, who is joining the show as character Rose in a nod to Billie Piper's stint as the companion to both David Tennant and Christopher Eccleston's Doctors.

Heartstopper star Yasmin, 18, looked effortlessly stylish in a floral skirt and a green T-shirt, which she wore underneath a denim jacket.

Yasmin looked serious as she stood closely beside David in front of an outdoor food stall, while Catherine, 52, could be seen in the background of the scene.

In another moment, Catherine, who is returning as the Doctor's popular companion Donna, looked serious as she was involved in a tense conversation with David.

Speculation has been rife around how David's Doctor and Catherine's beloved companion Donna Noble will be reunited, after her memory was wiped of their adventures in devastating scenes 14 years ago.

The pair's return to the series sparked elation among fans, with their arrival set to air as part of the show's 60th Anniversary in 2023.

The anniversary scenes will also feature new Doctor Ncuti Gatwa, whose casting was announced earlier this month.
