The Bachelor host Osher Günsberg has encouraged Aussies to vote for climate change action in the federal election to provide a better future for their children.

The 48-year-old, who shares two-year-old son Wolfie and 17-year-old stepdaughter Georgia with his wife Audrey Griffen, has thrown his support behind the non-partisan parent advocacy organisation Australian Parents for Climate Action.

In a video posted to Instagram on Thursday, Osher said: 'Parents always make the best decisions now, so that their child will have the best possible outcome 20 years from now. That's what parents do. That's the job.'

He continued: 'However our leaders really don't seem to be interested in doing anything like this for our country. This election, nobody who's going for the top job is talking about what's important to our kids.

'We are living through the critical years for not only implementing the climate solutions which will hopefully keep our weather patterns as stable as we possibly can.

'But these are also the critical years to invest and scale up, not only renewables, but also the green industries, in manufacturing, energy export - these are huge opportunities.'

Osher went on to say: 'My son Wolf can't vote until after 2036. Yet by the time he lines up on election day to cast his ballot and get his democracy sausage, all of the critical decisions about climate action will have already been made.

'It's up to us to support climate action. The other day, I voted like a parent. I voted for the world my kids will live in 20 years from now. Because I believe in jobs, growth, a strong economy, and strong security. I believe in all those things and I know that climate action is the thing to get it done.'

Nic Seton, the CEO for Australian Parents for Climate Action, said: 'In the lead-up to this election, thousands of parents and their families have gotten involved in supporting climate action and engaging their candidates.

'And it's no surprise, because supporting climate action helps protect our families and communities.

'More than ever, we need to vote like a parent - because that is what is best for our kids. This is a message the next parliament needs to hear.'

The coalition and the opposition are leaving nothing to chance on the final day of the federal election campaign, as a new poll shows Labor could win government.

But the prime minister says he is more interested in the unemployment rate, which on Thursday was confirmed at 3.9 per cent, than the polls.
