Julia Gillard debuted a glamorous new look when she appeared on the campaign trail with Anthony Albanese on Friday.

The 60-year-old former prime minister stepped out in Adelaide with perfectly coiffed light auburn hair, which was styled in a chic bob.

She appeared youthful, opting for natural-look makeup, and wore thick-framed black spectacles as she addressed the media.

Moving beyond her days of power suits in parliament, Julia showed off her new chic sense of style.

The retired politician wore a pair of leather pants, which she teamed with a scoop-neck black top.

She rounded out her ensemble with a charcoal grey blazer with black leather lapels, and accessorised with a gold pendant necklace.
