One in four Britain's Got Talent acts are 'recycled' from other shows or have links to Simon Cowell and other show talent, it has been claimed.

Of the 60 acts that have been shown on television this year, 15 have either appeared on another series from the Got Talent franchise, are linked to head judge Simon or someone else linked to the shows, or are already 'professional', according to The Sun.

The likes of American singer Loren Allred, 32, is the voice of the hit song Never Enough from the 2017 film The Greatest Showman, while soul singer Mel Day, 77, achieved chart success as the lead vocalist of J.A.L.N. Band in the US and UK with 1976 track Disco Music (I Like It).

Meanwhile, Titan the Robot appeared on BGT hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly's show Saturday Night Takeaway last year, while strongman JD Anderson was featured on their programme Red and Black, with the US muscleman also auditioning for Simon on America’s Got Talent previously.

French dance troupe Les Sancho previously finished third on their home country's version of BGT, called La France A Un Incroyable Talent, after achieving the Golden Buzzer on the show.

A source told The Sun that it would be 'unfair to say these contestants are household names' but that 'some have had an element of success' while insisting they would need to be looked up to be

A Britain's Got Talent spokesperson told the publication: 'All acts enter the competition with the hope of elevating their career to the highest level and help to reach massive new audiences which Britain’s Got Talent brings in.

'As we’re all aware, the pandemic affected so many lives, particularly those that work in the entertainment industry, and it is wrong to deny these people the opportunity to showcase their talents and entertain the nation, and ultimately perform in front of royalty at the Royal Variety Performance.

'As has always been the case, Britain’s Got Talent is open to everyone.'

MailOnline has contacted Britain's Got Talent and Syco Entertainment for further comment. 

Other acts to have links with the show include Matricks Illusion who have previously worked with Stephen Mulhern, Ashley Banjo and Diversity, while Temple London performed for the judges on America’s Got Talent in 2021 and made it to the final of Italia’s Got Talent earlier this year.

Dancing dog act Amber & Nymeria reached the finals of Holland’s Got Talent in 2020 and appeared on Belgium Got Talent in 2021, while comedian Axel Blake has a comedy special live recording of his show at London's O2 Arena
