And Sunday was no exception for Katy Perry, as she stunned in two blinding sequined gowns during the star-studded three-hour American Idol finale.

The 37-year-old dazzled in one show stopping ensemble during judging, which featured ruffled layers in the skirt and included a plunging neckline.

The metallic style dress was covered in sequins from head to toe and featured a big pink rose applique on the front.

The brunette beauty had her locks styled back into a sophisticated bun with a few front strands left out to frame her face.

The hitmaker paired it with matching heels and jewellery, before she changed into an equally stunning look as she took to the stage to perform.

She teamed up with contestant Leah Marlene for a spirited rendition of her pop song Firework. 

The judge sent draws dropping in the sparkly copper gown with thigh high slit as she flaunted her incredible pins on stage. 

After a quick turnaround in the changing rooms, Katy appeared with a whole new look as she wore her brunette locks in a sleek and straight hairdo.

The singing sensation looked the picture of confidence as she owned the stage, belting out one of her biggest hits. 

The night belonged to Noah Thompson - won season 20 of the competition during a nail-biting three-hour finale on ABC.
